New series of Wheeler Dealers will have an American feel

FAMED vehicle restoration TV show Wheeler Dealers will be returning to UK television screens on Monday, May 9 for its 13th series.

With experienced car dealer Mike Brewer and all-round automotive handyman Edd China still at the helm, the show shifts location from the south-east of the UK to the west coast of the USA as the Wheeler Dealers have set up shop in Los Angeles!

The format of the show remains the same, though, with Brewer heading to the surrounding states to find cars with optimistic money-making potential and bringing them back to China for restoration to a profitable state.

The eight classic cars in this series include a 1977 Honda Civic CVCC, the military-grade Humvee and a Fox-body Mustang from 1988. In the first episode, the duo get to work on a Mercedes-Benz 560SL, facing the challenge of restoring a money-no-object car from the 1980s without breaking the bank on expensive parts.

Brewer said: ‘After restoring over 100 cars, me and Edd are still finding fantastic classics to restore, and if there was a theme for this series, it would be “having fun”.

‘With cars from the 1960s, ’70s and ’80s, Edd will be getting more involved in choosing the type of car we are looking for each week, while I’ll be taking my turn getting my hands dirty in the workshop.’

China added: ‘We may be basking in the LA sunshine but the job in hand remains the same. Our brand spanking new workshop will see the same amount of sweat and tears as the previous ones in Bracknell – it just so happens that we now have the Pacific Coast Highway outside rather than the M25!’

The new season of Wheeler Dealers will have its world premiere in the UK on the Discovery Channel (Sky 520, Virgin 250, BT TV 322, TalkTalk 322) at 9pm.
