Top-performing service staff honoured at special ceremony

TOP technicians and administrative staff from Hendy are celebrating this week after being honoured at the company’s annual Service Awards.

The ceremony was hosted by TV presenter Alex Brooker with entertainment from electric string quartet Escala.

Hendy chief executive Paul Hendy said: ‘The evening was a great opportunity to thank all of our employees who work behind the scenes but play a crucial role in the success of the group.

‘Last year, we serviced and repaired more than 235,000 vehicles at our dealerships in Hampshire, Sussex, Surrey, Kent and Devon.’

Technicians, service and parts advisors were honoured for their work. Jake Evans, who works at Hendy Honda Exeter, was named Apprentice of the Year and Paul Dittrich who works at Hendy Ford, Mazda and Kia in Eastleigh was named Service Manager of the Year.

The key Hall of Fame award was presented to Mike Weatherston who joined the company in 1980.

‘Mike has been with us for more than 37 years and has been a valuable member of the team and instrumental in our success story,’ said Hendy.
