UFI Filters renews contract to provide filtering solutions for F1

UFI FILTERS has renewed its role in supplying filtering solutions for the 2018 season of the FIA Formula One World Championship.

The Italian company is continuing to supply oil, cabin air and fuel filters this year’s championship.

Based in Nogarole Rocce, Verona, UFI invests five per cent of its turnover in research and development (R&D) activities in order to make new innovations with its products. The result of this is it owns 167 international patents.

Last year, UFI’s 14 plants produced more than 70m filters for the automotive, agricultural, marine, industrial and mechanical engineering sectors.

Giorgio Girondi, president of UFI Filters, commented: ‘We provide from four up to 14 filtering solutions to each racing car assembled by Scuderia Ferrari, Mercedes-AMG F1, Force India, Williams F1, Toro Rosso, Haas Racing F1 and Alfa Romeo Sauber F1.

‘Each single filter has been designed by our R&D department, which employs 180 engineers and technicians, and manufactured in our plants.

‘We are extremely proud, and we feel the responsibility for being a strategic supplier of F1 racing car manufacturers.

‘The needs of racing car manufacturers require us to be at the forefront of technology innovation. This explains why UFI Filters occupies a leading position in the OEM market and covers a significant portion in the aftermarket segment, thanks to its presence in the supply chain of the most important distributors across more than 70 countries, with more than 3,000 catalogue items.’
