Barn find 1962 Jaguar E-Type to go under the hammer at H&H Classics Buxton sale

A 1962 Jaguar E-Type barn find is up for sale at the H&H Classics Buxton sale on July 18.

The classic sports car has spent the last 35 years in storage in Moray, Scotland, where it was found covered in thick layers of dust.

The Jag’s odometer indicates that it has covered a total of 66,551 miles. It’s going under the hammer at the H&H Classics sale in Buxton, Derbyshire at no reserve and is estimated to fetch between £30,000 and £40,000.

The E-Type is a hardtop model and is fitted with the iconic 3.8-litre straight-six engine. It comes complete with all documents and certificates.

Having been built in 1962, this is quite an early example of the E-Type, as the model first entered production in 1961.

Roger Nowell from the H&H Classics sales team commented: ‘The joy of this job is that now and then you stumble across a car that you just know is going to excite other car lovers as much as it excites you.

‘This E-Type is such an iconic symbol of its time and our motoring history. It was utterly revolutionary in its day and had a massive influence on the automotive industry.’
